Last week we showed you how to make a cute and simple
cupcake bunting using washi tape. This week, we wanted to share another super simple yet highly attractive washi tape project! Get ready for... Washi tape coasters!
For this project, you'll need:
Square ceramic tiles ( you can find some in the clearance section of a hardware store usually for a few cents!)
A variety of washi tape
Cardstock (optional)
Scissors
Foam or cork for backing
Clear spray paint or sealant
Glue
1. Cut a piece of cardstock to size and place on the top of the tile. (Optional -- I did this because my tiles were gray and I wanted the tape to stand out better on a white background)
2. Start covering the tile with your washi tape! You can do this however you like! Make sure the edges wrap around the tile.
3. Cut foam or cork backing slightly smaller than the size of your tile. Glue onto back. You can usually find foam sheets at your local dollar store, or cork board at a hardware store! You can use anything that will be gentle on tables!
4. That was easy, wasn't it!? Finish by spraying a few coats of clear spray paint on the top and sides. I usually do 4 coats to make them nice and water proof.
Enjoy your new coasters!
